USAF addresses ALQ-161 avionics systems testing requirements

HUNT VALLEY, Md. U.S. Air Force officials ordered 12 Advanced Radar/Electronic Warfare Test Station (ARTS) Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) systems from Textron Systems Electronic Systems to support the B-1B Lancer strategic bomber fleet.

The contract valued at $11 million addresses testing requirements of the ALQ-161 Defensive Avionics Systems.

The ARTS ATE will replace legacy ATE systems with one integrated unit containing a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) test system. ARTS is a radio frequency (RF) test station used by the U.S. Air Force for avionics systems.
