Unisys receives cloud-hosting services contract from Army for up to $247 million

RESTON, Va. The U.S. Army has selected Unisys Corp. to participate in the Army program for cloud-hosting services work through the estimated $247 million Army Cloud Computing Enterprise Transformation (ACCENT) Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA).

The three-year ACCENT BOA will allow organizations within the Army to transition workloads and applications to the cloud. The contract also covers additional services such as security and application analysis, planning, and business-process reengineering.

Unisys has already worked with several govenmental entities on transitioning enterprise applications to the cloud: The Department of the Interior worked with Unisys to become the first U.S. federal organization to move its financial management system to the cloud, while Unisys also presided over the U.S. General Services Administration's transition of its email and collaboration system to the cloud.
