U.S. Navy solicits support proposals via SeaPort Next Generation

WASHINGTON. The U.S. Navy announced on June 1, 2018, that it is now accepting vendor proposals through its SeaPort Next Generation (SeaPort-NxG) electronic hub. SeaPort is the Navy Department's electronic platform for acquiring support services in 23 separate areas that include engineering, financial Management, and program management.

Vendors who wish to bid, say Navy officials, will notice that the updated SeaPort-NxG now divides the 23 functional areas into two scope of work categories, either engineering services or program management. Moreover, the bid process removes the regional zone presence requirements, which enables all awarded multiple-award contract holders to compete for any task order solicitation.

The Navy is set to begin using SeaPort-NxG to award task orders for services at the beginning of fiscal year 2019.
