U.S. Navy completes precision-guided munition flight test with Dual Mode Plus kit

ARCHBALD, Pa. The U.S. Navy completed two flight tests with Lockheed Martin?s Dual Mode Plus laser guided bomb at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division in China Lake, California.

During the flight test, two Mk-82 (500-lb.) inert warheads equipped with Dual Mode Plus guidance kits were released from an F/A-18 Super Hornet and impacted fixed targets. The demonstration showed the operation of the linear optics, GPS/Inertial Navigation System (INS) guidance subsystem and the control actuation system.
