U.S. Air Force completes flight test of Raytheon's upgraded HARM Control Section Modification

TUCSON, Ariz. The U.S. Air Force has flight tested Raytheon’s upgraded High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM). The upgraded HARM Control Section Modification (HCSM) is more accurate, which reduces potential collateral damage.
During the test mission, an F-16 aircraft fired an AGM-88F HCSM against an emitter located outside of a zone of exclusion, which housed a similar radiating emitter. The upgraded HSCM used its GPS and inertial measurement unit (IMU) capability to successfully impact the correct target.
Additional HCSM test missions are required to determine if HCSM is ready for deployment to the U.S. Air Force.
To date, more than 4,000 HARMs have been employed in combat.
