The acquisition of Herndon expands Raytheon's cybersecurity solutions

DULLES, Va. Raytheon expands its cybersecurity portfolio with the acquisition of Virginia-based Foreground Security company, Herndon. The company - titled Raytheon Foreground Security (RFS) - allows Raytheon to gain momentum in security services across federal, international, and commercial markets.
RFS has approximately 165 employees, 85 percent who are trained in cybersecurity. Foreground Security's Virtual Security Operations Center (V-SOC) and Automated Threat Intelligence Platform (ATIP) offer capabilities such as cyber monitoring and threat hunting.
"Foreground has a well-earned reputation for cutting edge, next generation capabilities in security monitoring services and proprietary 'cyber hunting' technologies," says David Amsler, founder and CEO of Foreground Security. "And now as part of Raytheon, we will have the resources and breadth to build upon these advanced capabilities and bring them to a much larger global customer set."
