Tactical-communications market to reach $15.4 billion in value by 2028

LONDON. The global tactical-communications market is expected to be valued at approximately $13.0 billion in 2018 and will grow at a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 1.7 percent, to a value of approximately $15.4 billion by 2028, according to a market study from Strategic Defence Intelligence, "The Global Tactical Communications Market 2018-2028."

The cumulative market for global expenditure on tactical communications, according to study findings, will reach $150 billion over the ten-year period.

During the forecast period, the study authors found that the Asia-Pacific region is expected to garner the highest revenue share of the tactical-communications market, with about 35 percent, followed by North America, which is projected to account for just over 28 percent of the global market. Europe is expected to be the third-largest market during the period studied, with a total share of around 25 percent; the Middle East is projected to capture about 5.7 percent of the market, Latin America is expected to account for 2.5 percent, and Africa is projected to capture around 2.1 percent of the global tactical-communications market over the forecast period.

The market is expected to be dominated by man-portable systems, which will account for over 38 percent of the overall revenue, followed by the vehicular and airborne segments, with shares of  approximately 36 percent and 12 percent, respectively. The stationary and naval segments are projected to account for shares of about 8.8 percent and 4 percent, respectively, during 2018-2028.
