MCLEAN, VA. Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a multiple-award, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract by the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense to provide systems engineering and technical support services for its Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS).

DRRS provides the means to manage and report the readiness of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to implement the national military strategy. The DRRS is designed to capture and display detailed readiness data from combatant and support commands to assess DoD combatant agencies, commanders, and services, with current and projected warfare mission capability.

Under the contract, SAIC will provide services and management support for the DRRS and its modules, including installation, life-cycle maintenance, help desk services, systems engineering and integration, system documentation, software design/development, testing, and training.

"SAIC's past performance in systems engineering, integration, and life-cycle support for the DRRS program and other similar systems have prepared us to help our customer successfully execute this program," says SAIC Navy and Marine Corps Senior VP, Tom Watson.

The contract has a total potential value of approximately $68 million. SAIC is one of four awardees that will compete for task orders under the contract. Work will be performed primarily in McLean, VA; San Diego, CA; and government facilities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
