Saab receives FMS sale for its Sea Giraffe AMB naval radar system

STOCKHOLM, Sweden. Under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) deal between the U.S. and the Philippines, Saab will supply its Sea Giraffe AMB naval radar system to the U.S. Navy for installation in the Philippine navy.

Also known as the as designated by Navy officials, the Sea Giraffe AMB offers , multirole, medium-range air and surface surveillance. It will be installed into two Philippine navy frigates: BRP Gregorio del Pilar (FF-15) and BRP Ramon Alcaraz (FF-16), both former U.S. Coast Guard Hamilton-class cutters.

The sale also includes Saab’s 9LV for control and display for enhanced situational awareness.
