MINNEAPOLIS. Polaris Government and Defense officials received contracts from the Latvian National Armed Forces and the Turkmenistan Special Operation Forces for military and commercial vehicles.

Latvian National Armed Forces and Polaris Government and Defense officials entered into a two-year agreement valued at $500,000 under the U.S. government’s foreign military sales (FMS) program.

The contract does not disclose the quantity of the Polaris MRZR 2 side-by-side vehicles, SPORTSMAN 6x6 and MV850 all-terrain vehicles that will be delivered, but it includes spare parts for the vehicles, as well as operator and maintenance training, which will be conducted in country by Polaris.

Under the multimillion-dollar vehicle contract with Government of Turkmenistan, Polaris will deliver to the Turkmenistan Special Operation Forces lightweight tactical vehicles.

The Polaris vehicles provide mobility options to their combat commanders to pose multiple dilemmas to the enemy, Polaris officials say.

Doug Malikowski, director of international business development, says “The vehicles we provide are highly transportable, off-road capable and are relied on for helping Special Forces navigate restrictive and complex environments.”
