Phase two of active protection system for Bradley Fighting Vehicle to proceed as planned

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) -- together with Elbit Systems and a team from IMI -- will move forward with Phase II of the Iron Fist Light (IFL) Active Protection System (APS) for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle following the announcement of a positive Army Requirements Oversight Council (AROC) decision.

According to information from , IFL uses independent optical , tracking , launchers, and countermeasure munitions to defeat threats while the combat vehicle stays at a safe distance.

Additionally, the system enables the user to have 360-degree protection coverage for close-range scenarios in both open terrain and urban environments.
