Phase two of active protection system for Bradley Fighting Vehicle to proceed as planned

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) -- together with Elbit Systems and a team from IMI -- will move forward with Phase II of the Iron Fist Light (IFL) Active Protection System (APS) for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle following the announcement of a positive Army Requirements Oversight Council (AROC) decision.

According to information from General Dynamics, IFL uses independent optical sensors, tracking radar, launchers, and countermeasure munitions to defeat threats while the combat vehicle stays at a safe distance.

Additionally, the system enables the user to have 360-degree protection coverage for close-range scenarios in both open terrain and urban environments.
