PacketAssure iQ1000 receives UC APL approval from DoD
WALLINGFORD, CT. The Ultra Electronics TCS PacketAssure iQ1000 device has been approved by the US Department of Defense (DoD) for the Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL). The PacketAssure iQ1000 is an intelligent Layer 2 switch that provides assured line speed LAN switching over Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) links. The device’s approval for the UC APL denotes its achievement of information assurance certification through the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) and open standards-based interoperability for DoD security and Information Technology (IT) mandates.
PacketAssure iQ1000 contains an intuitive, graphical user interface enables quick configuration of eight Class of Service (CoS) queues and network processors, which work to mark, redirect, police, or block packets before they are queued and ensure bandwidth access even in high network capacities situations. This also allows operators to make instantaneous changes to traffic flow without interrupting devices at Layer 3, critical to tactical environment operations. The device also meets MIL-STD shock and vibration requirements, and has an extended temperature range for harsh environment operation.
After extensive testing to the UC APL criteria, President of Ultra Electronics TCS’ U.S. division Bill Gill commented, "Achieving this certification is yet another demonstration of our commitment to provide customers with best-in-class information assurance and interoperability. UC APL approval of the PacketAssure iQ1000 will help us continue to be a significant contributor of secure traffic management systems for the DoD."
