Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) to use rugged servers from Z Microsystems

SAN DIEGO. Z Microsystems is working with MEADS International to deliver its ZX rugged servers and workstations for the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS).

The ZX Series meet MIL-STD-810G requirements for shock, vibration, humidity, and high/low temperature. Each device has a compact and lightweight design, which saves rack space. It also has military options like EMI filtered power supplies with Mil-Circular connectors and a locking security panel. The also comply with the European CE marking for safety and environmental standards.

, which is being developed by Lockheed Martin in the U.S. and MBDA in Germany and Italy, is a mobile air defense system that will replace Patriot systems in the U.S. and Germany and Nike Hercules systems in Italy.
