FALLS CHURCH, Va. Northrop Grumman has received an initial $2.4 million task order for logistics support services from the U.S. Air Force, the first portion of a $3.6 billion indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) award for Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure (LAIRCM) systems and support.

Northrop Grumman’s LAIRCM system, say company officials, enables remote protection of aircrews by detecting, tracking, and jamming incoming infrared threats without the need for user intervention.

Under the terms of the larger contract -- set to conclude in 2025 -- the Air Force may issue task or delivery order awards up to the ceiling amount specified.
