Harris to provide electronic warfare decoy tech to Navy program

MELBOURNE, Fla. U.S. Naval Research Laboratory officials placed an order with Harris Corp. to provide maritime electronic warfare (EW) payloads for its Advanced Decoy Architecture Project (ADAP) program. The order is valued an estimated $27 million.
Officials say, the ADAP EW payloads will be an upgrade to the Nulka decoy, which are currently in service with the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Royal Australian navy, and Royal Canadian navy.
Ed Zoiss, president at Harris Electronic Systems says, "decoys are an essential layer of shipboard protection, often serving as the last line of electronic defense."
The initial contract was received in September 2015 under a three-year, $54 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, which also includes testing and engineering services.
