ERAPSCO joint venture awarded $70.3 million in Navy sonobuoy contracts

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. and SCHAUMBURG, Ill. Ultra Electronics Holdings and Sparton Corporation have won subcontracts valued at $70.3 million under their ERAPSCO joint venture for the manufacture and delivery of sonobuoys for the U.S. Navy.

Under the terms of the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, ERAPSCO will produce sonobuoys at Ultra Electronics' Columbia City, Indiana, facility and Sparton’s De Leon Springs, Florida, facility. Work on the contract is expected to be completed by March 2020.

Douglas Caster, executive chairman of Ultra Electronics, stated: “I am pleased that we have secured this important contract that will continue to provide critical sensor capabilities to the U.S. Navy. This contract is a reflection of the increased focus on antisubmarine warfare and the U.S. Navy’s commitment to providing key technology for this important mission.”
