Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar to be developed by Raytheon

TEWKSBURY, Mass. U.S. Navy officials selected Raytheon under an engineering and manufacturing development contract to develop an Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar (EASR). The cost-plus-incentive-fee contract is worth $92,069,954.
Engineers will build, integrate, and test an EASR engineer development model. If all options are exercised under this contract, it could bring the value up to $723,063,945.
Officials say, the EASR will consist of two configuration variants:
- Variant 1: a rotating phased array
- Variant 2: a three-face fixed-phased array
Work is expected to be completed by February 2020 and will be performed at Raytheon facilities in Sudbury, Massachusetts; Fairfax, Virginia; Andover, Massachusetts; Stafford Springs, Connecticut; East Syracuse, New York; High Ridge, Missouri; Flemington, New Jersey; Indianapolis, Indiana; Lawrenceville, Georgia; Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and Big Lake, Minnesota.
$11 million will be obligated at the time of the award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The money will stem from Fiscal 2016 research, development, test, and evaluation funding.
