ARLINGTON, Va. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will hold Virtual Proposers Days on June 6 and 7, 2018, to provide information about the Tactical Technology Office (TTO) goals and areas for intended investment in advance of a mid-June release of the 2018 Disruptive Capabilities for Future Warfare Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). The event will also enable companies and individuals to meet with TTO program managers to discuss concepts for advanced research, development, and demonstration of systems for military missions. Registration for the Proposers Days closes June 1 at noon EDT.

TTO seeks orthogonal approaches; that is, those that come at a problem from a novel angle that neither side has considered – to drive enterprise disruption within, beyond, and across the bounds of traditional warfighting domains on the ground, at sea, in the air, and in space. TTO’s goal is to identify and demonstrate alternative warfighting concepts, architectures, and capabilities that disrupt adversaries’ decision calculus and create surprise and impose significant costs to counter.

“We want ideas that upset the enterprise, unexpected approaches that could fundamentally change the way we develop, design, build, deploy, and operate military systems,” said Fred Kennedy, director, DARPA TTO. “Don’t be afraid to challenge the most basic assumptions about how we fight, and what we give our warfighters to fight with. Proposers Day is the perfect opportunity to float a novel concept that takes us in completely different directions, and just might lead to a strong proposal.”
