Contract will update U.S. Navy submarine's weapon platforms

Arlington, VA. BAE Systems wins a three-year contract with the U.S. Navy to provide updated weapons engineering and services for U.S. and allied submarines.

Under the contract, BAE will provide support services including development, analysis and incorporation of new weapon launch and payload systems; mechanical configuration and interface control; and fabrication, assembly, installation and evaluation of test facilities and naval platforms. BAE will also continue to provide on-call engineers for the legacy submarine systems.

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center initially selected BAE with the contract valued at $3.4 million; the three-year contract total value is estimated at $13.8 million.

BAE will support the U.S. Navy operations across the globe, but services will be performed at the BAE’s facilities in Middle, R.I. and Groton, Conn.
