Astro Aerospace to manufacture radar antenna for NASA/ISRO satellite

CARPINTERIA, Calif. Astro Aerospace – a Northrop Grumman company – will design and manufacture the radar antenna for NASA/Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite in a contract with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
Astro Aerospace will use its AstroMesh reflector for NISAR's 12-meter aperture antenna, building an ultra light and stiff reflector that is suited for high-frequency communications and radar applications
NISAR, a radar imaging satellite, uses dual L-Band and S-Band frequencies. It is designed to help scientists better understand the planet’s processes and climate change, according to officials. NASA and ISRO have partnered together for this mission.
