FALLS CHURCH, Va. Northrop Grumman Corp. has received a $124.7 million award from the U.S. government for production of AN/APR-39D(V)2 digital radar warning receiver and electronic warfare (EW) management systems for use by the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.

The AN/APR-39D(V)2 is a small, lightweight digital radar warning receiver and EW management system that provides 360-degree coverage to enable flight crews to detect and identify radio frequency threats to an aircraft; as an EW management suite, the APR-39D(V)2 displays data from multiple onboard sensors and can automatically initiate countermeasures to protect aircrews.

The radar and EW systems incorporate digital receiver technology, fast signal processing, and updated apertures for enhanced aircraft survivability in the modern combat environment.
