Army chooses contractor for sensors, night vision applications

TYSON'S CORNER, Va. MicroTech has been chosen as a prime contractor to the U.S. Army Rapid Acquisition for Materials for Prototyping (RAMP) contract, a $192 million multiple award contract that develops, prototypes, evaluates, and provides worldwide technical and field support of advanced research and development (R&D) and specialized sensors for the Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) and other agencies.

Through the three-year RAMP contract, MicroTech will support the Army’s Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) at Army installations in the U.S. and abroad such as Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Ft. A.P. Hill, Virginia; Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland; White Sands, New Mexico; and Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona, as well as in operational theaters, combat zones, and overseas contingency operations.
