ORLANDO, Fla. Under a low-rate initial production contract, Lockheed Martin has delivered 200 out of 367 Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS) for the F-35 Lightning II.

The EOTS is a sensor that combines forward-looking infrared and infrared search and track. It allows aircrews to identify areas of interest, perform reconnaissance, and deliver laser- and GPS-guided weapons while maintaining its stealth.

In a Production Readiness Review conducted in October 2016 by the F-35 Joint Program Office, the EOTS received low-risk rating.
