Curtiss-Wright Delivers First VPX-based COTS DSP Engines to Wide Range of MIL Applications

LEESBURG, VA – December 13, 2006 – Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, a leading designer and manufacturer of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) VME, VPX and CompactPCI products, has announced that its groundbreaking new CHAMP-AV6 VPX/VPX-REDI digital signal processor (DSP) card is shipping to defense and aerospace customers for use in a variety of high-end applications including a ground-based defensive aid sensor system, next generation ground and air-borne radars, and signal intelligence platforms. Curtiss-Wright is delivering both boards and integrated VPX development systems to these customers. The CHAMP-AV6 is the first DSP engine available in the new VPX (VITA 46) and VPX-REDI (VITA 48) high performance, rugged form factors.
