Concurrent to Offer Ruggedized Linux-based Image Generation Solutions

Concurrent — May 18, 2006

DULUTH, GA - May 16, 2006 - Concurrent (NASDAQ:CCUR), a leading provider of real-time computer systems and software for mission-critical applications, today announced the availability of ruggedized, mobile versions of its popular real-time Linux operating system on ImaGen visual servers. Utilizing NextCom's FleXtreme COTS technology, the solutions will address mobile image generation requirements in simulation and training, modeling and process control applications. NextCom, LLC is a leading manufacturer of high-performance, small footprint, rugged and mobile computing solutions.

ImaGen visual servers run Concurrent's powerful, enhanced real-time Linux distributions -- RedHawk Linux, (compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Concurrent Real-Time Extensions Powered by SUSE Linux. With Concurrent's partnership with NextCom, ImaGen users can now take advantage of NextCom's rugged mobile, 64-bit computing technology. Typical applications include civil and military simulation, mission planning, homeland security, scientific and medical visualization, architectural design, energy exploration, and entertainment.

"This partnership is an opportunity for both Concurrent and NextCom," said Warren Neuburger, COO of Concurrent. "The combination of NextCom's unrivaled hardware and Concurrent's time-critical, low-latency Linux-based computing and visualization software will greatly advance military training environments providing a level of accuracy crucial to mission success."

Based entirely on open COTS technology, NextCom's success comes from understanding client objectives and offering customized, scalable solutions to resolve the most pressing platform needs. Featuring server-level performance in a mobile form factor smaller than a briefcase, NextCom's solutions are ideal for on-site consultants or developers that need extreme-performance computing away from the office. Key technical design features of NextCom's product line include 64-bit multi-core processing, PCI Express x16 expansion, DDR memory and multi-DIMM channeling, as well as flexible networking, storage and OS support.

"Concurrent customers can experience dramatically reduced packaging size and enhanced real-time performance enabled by the synergy of NextCom and Concurrent's Linux-based real-time operating system and COTS visualization technology. Our combined ability to refine the graphical environment to such an accurate and highly-responsive degree will greatly improve mission training and rehearsal for critical military operations," said Bob Labadini, NextCom CTO.

Concurrent and NextCom will demonstrate a fully-integrated mission rehearsal visual system at the ITEC Defence Training, Education and Simulation Conference May 16-18 2006 in United Kingdom. Concurrent's Linux solution will be demonstrated along with Diamond Visionics' GenesisMP, a powerful new scenario visualization tool and NextCom's FleXtreme Computer technology. This solution can provide the military with the ultimate in rugged, real-time, worldwide, pre-mission visualization.
