Small commercial UAS to survey BP pipelines in Alaska
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted the very first commercial Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operation over land to BP and UAS manufacturer AeroVironment. Together, the companies plan to use AeroVironment’s Puma All Environment (AE) UAS for aerial surveys in Alaska.

DARPA miniaturized IMU to be developed by Northrop Grumman
WOODLAND HILLS, CA. Northrop Grumman engineers will be developing a miniaturized navigation grade inertial system for use by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Chip-Scale Combinatorial Atomic Navigator (C-SCAN) program. It is part of U. S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center contract.

Modular, open-architecture radar system to be demonstrated by Raytheon for Navy
TEWKSBURY, MA. Officials at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) tasked Raytheon to further develop an Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar (EASR). The company's EASR concept uses existing Radar Modular Assembly (RMA) architecture that has been proven on Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) platforms. EASR will be able to meet the performance needs of various candidate ship classes for ship situational awareness, self-defense, air traffic control, and weather monitoring.

Fourth Boeing P-8I maritime patrol aircraft delivered to India
SEATTLE. Boeing has fulfilled half of its contract to deliver eight P-8I maritime patrol aircrafts to India. The fourth aircraft departed from Boeing Field in Seattle and arrived at Naval Air Station Rajali, where it joined three other P-8Is.
